Ban The EVM

In this question, we will not cover detailed political and administrative aspects, some of which we looked at earlier while understanding principles of genuine elections. We only consider the the 'action aspects', which are now our area of interest because

1. These steps directly involve the voter, not just election administration.
2. These steps are directly observable by civic society for transparency.
3. Technology 'improvement' and voting automation can badly destroy integrity of these steps by loss of transparency as well as other reasons.

These action steps are:

1. Pre-Voting Stage

1. Registering voters
2. Maintaining records of registered voters

2. Voting Stage

3. Assuring zero votes just before voting begins
4. Verifying voter's identity on voting day before allowing vote
5. Making poll list or participation list of those who cast a vote
6. Marking the intended candidate(s) for vote
7. Casting/recording the marked vote
8. Counting of cast/recorded votes
9. Combining individual votes or vote counts at constituency level
10. Tabulation and display of results
